Practically Wordless Wednesday

For months, I have been complaining about the weather. That it's too hot. That the humidity is so high my lungs are clamoring for a paddle. That my yard is sauteing in the heat. That I cannot wait for Fall. That I just want the weather to be seasonal. And this morning when I woke up to temperatures in the twenties. Summertime at the beach was all I could think about.

So...what about you? Are you pining for another season? What is your favorite part of each season?

  3. Great photos! Especially the last two!

I pine for snow (yeah, I live a little to far south, but a girl can wish!) Then about January, when there has been no snow to break the monotony of the brown grass and leafless trees, I pine for spring. Which is great, b/c that is about the time for the Camellias and Azaleas to start their flowery show! I NEVER pine for summer - tooo hot!

  4. Yeah! I am first to comment! My first thought when I saw these pics... how great youth is. To walk on the beach and not care whether you look great in a bikini. To just be excited about the waves, the water, and the fun!

So cute! Took me back to summers growing up. We went to San Diego every summer for 6 years to vacation. I love the beach!

    Happy WW!

  8. those are some awesome pictures. I am trying to be content in the season we are in now. Even if it means, I can not take the already stir crazy kids outside.

  9. After all that procrastinating this is the best you had?

    WHAT!?

That's ok cause you know I didn't even post anything.

Favorite time of year would be anytime I get to go to Hotlanta to hange with my Mommy Blabber girls.

Awww... I know sweet like sugar!

  10. Beautiful pictures, beautiful girls! We don't have real seasons in Vegas, just hot and windy. I feel lucky if I see a tree whose leaves turn anything other than dead brown!

  11. Great pictures - I'm so in the same boat, pining for summer - but can I have summer weather in the winter so I still get Christmas? Without moving? That'd be great.

I love the blooming in Spring, the hot gorgeous weather and vacation feel of summer, the changing leaves of fall and the family memories of winter - Christmas parties, baking, etc.

  12. LOVE these pics.

    LOL..."ya don't know what you've got, til it's gone..."

I'm the same way. I gripe about Texas heat, but in truth, I prefer heat over bone chilling cold.

  13. I miss spring. Some days it's ok here to go for a walk, most days now it's freezing. Yuck!

  14. Woo - Hoo!!! First to comment!!!!

Ok... so not, but I just had to say it.

I'm pining for this time of year... I love cool weather and cozy sweaters.

My favorite part of spring - watching the leaves come out.

    Summer - swimming

Fall - EVERYTHING - the cooler weather, the smells, the leaves...

Winter - the holidays and the coziness of the dark evenings and candles...

  15. Although I make the best of every season, I got bit hard by the cold wind today. I can't wait for spring but I have a looooooong way to go until that in Wisconsin. So, I am cranking up my oven and making some more dinner rolls today:-)

  16. Personally i love fall. It's not cold. It's not hot. That said i do miss winter adn all its icy, snowy beauty. :)

  17. Having grown up in San Diego and now living in the midwest, I am finally happy with the weather. It is rarely the same, as it is in San Diego. 'Cept when you get a dadgum Santa Ana--which, I do not miss at all.

Currently, my favorite season is fall. Next year, it could be something entirely different. I love fall for the feeling in the air, the colorful leaves and the smell of pumpkin, cinnamon and other fabulous spices filling the air.

  18. What a lovely expanse of photos! Felt a bit warmer viewing them on this VERY chilly day in Richmond.

Is it too goofy to say the "best" season to me is typically the one we're in? Used to hate spring and fall (too middlin') but now, I love them too.

  19. The grass is always greener, huh? Well, not my grass...

I love the cold weather. Love it, love it, love it.

  20. I want to be there!

My friend was a runner in 'Chariots of Fire'. He was a student at Trinity College, Cambridge and had to run around the quad. What a star ;-)

  21. It is in the 20's here, too. That is sooo not fair!
I wish summer were back with the blistering heat!

But, love the beach!!!!!!! In the winter!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! LOL

  24. Twenties?! Brrr... We are having such a strange fall this year. Yesterday we had 60's. I'm almost (ALMOST) wishing for some snow. It just doesn't feel like THanksgiving with it being so warm. Loved the pics. I need a beach closer to me.

  25. LOL! My favorite season is fall. I love the changing of the colors, the close to sunshine and bright colors, the beginning of earth tones to dominate the landscape . . . can you tell I grew up in Oregon??? I am thoroughly enjoying fall and preparation for the holidays. But, come mid January, I'll have to get your beach pics out to look at again! Thanks for sharing!

  26. I love the Fall. It's a definite cooler temperatures for a climate that's warm year-round. The leaves don't change color, but it has the most beautiful weather of all seasons in South Florida I think. If only it could last six months LOL

    ReplyDelete
  27. I love the weather in San Diego. Can there be a more perfect place. 70's year round. If only I could afford one of the houses on the beach..... It really is the only way to live. Seattle has the rainy season and the not so rainy season. I'd like the latter to last a little bit longer, but I am not picky really. San Diego weather will do me just fine!

  28. I love Spring!
It is freezing here right now too! It was 20 degrees when I woke up, frost on the ground....GRRRRR

  29. i love the idea of being a beach girl.
but as soon as i'm away from MN, i really really miss the changing of the seasons.
i think that the transition in between is my most favorite.

  30. I am pretty content with the weather right now. Fall is my most favorite season of the year. I can't wait for some snow but I get tired of that after while. I love the spring almost as much as I love fall. I like the summer but once it gets to hot I am over it. So I am happy with the cooler temps and the falling leaves (even though they make my yard a mess) for just a little longer.

  31. Ah, the beach... one of the reasons I love Florida so much :)

Hey, check out my blog today. I am showing your some bloggy love by giving you an award!!

  32. It was 19 when I had to bundle the kids up this morning to head over to the WIC office. I made me long for any weather above 60! Lovely pictures by the way.

  33. I actually like fall and winter. Fall is my favorite time of the year. I also like spring too. I don't mind the cold weather. I like snuggling up in a nice warm blanket on the couch, with a cup of hot chocolate, watching a movie or football. Good times!

    Nice pictures by the way.

OH...and how would I go about getting a cool signature for the bottom of my posts?

    ReplyDelete
  34. Why did everyone think they were first??

Okay back to your post...YES! I wish it were warmer. I'd say 60* is my ideal temperature. Anything higher and I'm whining how hot it is and not much lower I'm cold.

Today it's been in the 30's...brrrrrrisk and cold.

  35. I'm with Lizzy; I love a little something about each season, and am so grateful to live in a state where we experience each one. But, I love fall the most. "Sweater weather" is the best.

  36. I am living out my wish. Since we normally live in Sunny Southern California, spending the autumn and winter in Montana is a treat. This is the first time in years I will have a real White Christmas. I can't wait. Even though it has been unusually warm and sunny in Montana this year. :)

  38. I was pining away for the pillow and warm blanket today myself. I just couldn't get warm. But I would NOT have any other season - this IS my fave.

ROFL at the Chariots of Fire music - they had it playing in Kroger yesterday and as I do with most things - I made a fool of myself running down the aisle tossing things in my buggy gleefully. Yeah - I was by myself - warped to say the least.

    LOVE the pictures!!!

  39. Yes - I much prefer warm weather. I still complain on those incredibly hot days but I'll take them any day over the blistering cold. Brrr! Thanks for your help today!!!

  40. Love the beach pictures! I've been looking forward to the fall, for so long (not like Chicago is THAT hot, but after so long here it feels it), but we don't really have any seasons. It's so often just plain mild with periods of heat and then it's just down right cold, cold, cold. *sigh* I miss the beach.

    ReplyDelete
  41. Those are some mighty fine pictures there!

I wish I could find a place where is was springlike year round. That is my favorite time in Colorado!

    ReplyDelete
  42. Frost in GA this Morning..MY son asked if that was SNOW. HMMM I like this weather we are having right now...COZY!

    ReplyDelete
  43. I have to admit that I love summer the best of all - even with the heat. Spring is next because we are leaving the wretched winter. Fall is third until it comes dangerously close to winter.

I love the heat and wearing shorts.

    ReplyDelete
  44. I'd love some cold right now, it's been really HOT here.

    ReplyDelete
  45. I was longing for these cooler nights as well .. but yeah, 20 degrees is not cool. It's frozen, yo.

I love the clothing for this time of year .. never been a fan of the itty bitty shorts, and tight shirts. I'm at home in my comfy sweatshirts, sweats, sweaters .. notice a theme? Sweat, sweat, sweat. And my jeans .. but I miss my flip-flops.

  46. Great pictures of the kids at the beach! Makes me wish summer were still here.

There's something that I love about all the seasons.

Winter - the fresh snow falling on the ground

Spring - the new life "springing forth" from the trees and bushes

Summer - the long hours of daylight and the warmth of course!

Autumn - the changing colors of the trees

I really can't stand the cold weather anymore, so if I could have the snow without that, I'd be happy.

    ReplyDelete
  47. It is still in the 80s here... ugh.

    ReplyDelete
  48. I'm always so happy when each new season arrives. And by the end of the season I'm glad it's over and ready for the next one.

I feel like I should be running in slow motion down my hallway to your music!

  49. sun and warmth - any season.

and i love , love ,love your pictures!

  50. Chariots of Fire. Perfect!

Fall is my favorite... the cooler weather, changing leaves, my birthday...

I don't really like much about summer... I do not do well in the heat. But I do like hanging out at the pool.

Best thing about winter are the holidays, cozy sweaters, hot cocoa by the fireplace...

  51. Cute little beach bunnies!!

I couldn't live somewhere that didn't have four seasons. I love all of them for different reasons, but Fall is my fav.

I tried my hand at asking Q's on my blog to get ready for my guest inquisitor stint! Come see the link love baby...

  52. I always like summer.. I don't like cold- not one little bit!

I love the beach pics. Katie & Maddie are such the models!
