Cardinal Camera Critter

I saw this meme for Camera Critters over at Rhea's blog. She has some cool frog photos posted. I wasn't planning to participate...but you never know how life might intervene. I was just making dinner and I could see two hawks chasing each other in my back yard. They were really "yelling" at one another. So...I grabbed my camera in the hopes of catching one of them in flight. But...as would be my luck...they were gone. And then this beautiful cardinal perches on the dogwood tree and begins his serenade:

Hi! Thank you so much for visiting my bog! I hope you do read some Jane Austen, and I hope you enjoy her! They're not just romances they're also great comedies of manners. :)

I look forward to checking out your blog some more :)

Is this the only camera critter photo you did?

You should do it more often. Especially now that you have furry little hooligans in your home.

I've forgotten your kittens names.

Do you just love them? Or are they a mess?

I grew up with a million cats on our ranch. I miss having them. My husband is allergic to cats, so we can't have them. That's ok, I guess, I like dogs better, but I wouldn't mind a kitten. :o)

I love the colouring on the bird. We have a number of Blue Jays around here, that torment our cat. Quite funny to watch :-)

W also have hawks. Some of them are quite big. We usually keep an eye out when they are overhead, especially if ou smallest sog, Sparky, is outside. Though he's rather fiesty, so heaven help any hawk that decided he might make a meal !!!
