Lisa--the weather has turned cooler here this week. We were in shorts last week...but not now...and it really got me craving summer. But then again, as soon as that hits, I'll be over the heat and humidity and posting snow pictures!
And yes, that is a shark. It's every mother's dream to have their daughter show them their new best friend. It was alive when she first found it...but not for long. Gotta wonder where mamma shark was :-)
Thanks Lorna and Brittney. Normally there are not waves at St. George...the ocean there seems as calm as lake water. But on this day, we were pummeled...and the shot was an easy one to get!
Heather--We have not done the search at night. I don't think we could because of the sea turtles. Each day when we would walk down to the beach, you can see their tracks...and they have the nests cordoned off...
Debbie--exactly! We were quite toasty last week...and today I got home from water aerobics...and my house is 60 degrees. I actually had to turn on the heat. It's just wrong! I am so ready for the beach.
wow wow wow!! wonderful summery lovely creepy naturey carefree livin' photos. Hope your spring/summer arrives & stays soon. and then you can laugh at me, cause here in SoCal May is Gray and June has Gloom. (lots of fog & clouds usually thru July-ish)
Joye--love your new avatar...is that Amelia Bedelia?
Rhea--yep, St. George. We love it there. We are going the first two weeks of July...counting down the days!
Angie--I know you are dreaming of summer as you count down the last days of school. Of course, I'm on the other end of that...and it's coming too soon :-)
Susan--I didn't know that SoCal was gray and gloom. Thought it was perfect all the time! Does doom come too? ;-)
Nissa--Ummm...wordless is usually not my forte. You should look at my other WW posts...most are full of words. But I like that...going to the dark side. Might have to work that into my title next week :-)
Julie--Thanks - that was so much fun with the seagulls. We would eat out on the porch and they would just gather and watch. There were quite a few of them on the eaves of the roof watching us, too. Kinda freaky. And then...my kids might throw them a morsel...let the squaking begin!

Oh sure, and I was happy with our little bit of spring, and now I am craving summer and a good beach! LOL
I love the last shot of your dd in the wave!!
Happy WW
So, I had to come back and look again, and sure enough, it's a shark your dd is holding. Holy cow! Was it alive?!
The first time through my eyes saw "shark", but since I just got up my brain didn't really register "SHARK"!
What beautiful pictures. I especially love the one in the sandy surf at the end.
That's a mighty big sand crab right there. Do you ever go look for them at night with a flashlight. That's some good scream-filled fun.
I had the same thought as Lisa...is that a SHARK??
Perfect timing on that last picture! Nice shot!
I love the beach...the waves, the sand, the wildlife....
Happy WW!
Brittney
The big crab reminds me of a moustached old man. :)
Love all the pictures!

Great pictures!! We can only dream of the beach here. I love those crabs.
ummm...is that my goddaughter holding a shark? didn't think so.
Yup...it's a shark. When we come to see you, you can have a little set down with her about not messing with sharks. :-)
ahhhhh.....suuuuummmmmerrr...it's a callin...it wants to break through...we had 86 last week, but this week it is 50...ahhhhhh, summmmer!

Yes, I love the beach sounds: wave, winds and birds. My favorite- seagulls. Lovely sounds for ww
Where were those pictures taken? Love the hermit crab! The beach and those waves look like heaven right now.
Oh, wait, just read down the comments and see this was taken at St. George. Cool!!
Great pics! We are dreaming of summer too. Actually, with the weather we are having this week, even spring would be nice!

Those are wonderful pictures... we haven't been to a beach in forever. Essie doesn't like them... sand in the suit you know.
I'm not dreaming of summer. Nope. I'm so ready for fall and winter.
Do you mind if I sit here and gaze at these photos? Some of the wrmth might just come through the screen at me.
It's something like 39 degrees here at the moment and with the wind chill, probably aboy 29 degrees !!!
I do love Autumn and Winter though...
Good Grief !!! That IS a shark that your DD is holding !!! Must have been a baby...
