Sing...sing a song

"Dirty babe.  You see the shackles.  Baby I'm your slave.  I'll let you whip me if I misbehave..." ~ Sexy Back by Justin Timberlake

"The whole damn world is just as obsessed.  With who's the best dressed and who's having sex, who's got the money, who gets the honeys..." ~ High School Never Ends by Bowling for Soup

They just take on new meaning.  When the songs are sung by your 8 year old.  At the top of her lungs.  In the back seat of the mini-van.  All while having a raging case of the hiccups.

Hilarious! I caught my 5 year old singing "Hey Soul Sister" with me in the car last week. Something about her singing "The way you move ain't fair you know" kind of gave me the creeps. Now I know how my Dad felt every time he changed the radio dial when I was a kid singing at the top of my lungs. :-)

L.O.L. The look of drama on her face just makes me smile. She is such a beautiful girl, Kat.

Yeah... I put a 2 year moritorium on "Before He Cheats" because hearing it from my nearly 5 year old with her Miley Cyrus voice made my skin crawl.

Yeah, my playlist is much shorter now that they sing along:-(

Its funny, I listen to some of the songs I liked as a kid and I cant believe my parents let me. Purple Rain? Are you kidding me?

SO funny! I remember when I went to see Maroon 5 in concert and the people sitting in front of us had 2 kids under 10 both singing along.

Watching them sing "I did my best to feed your appetite, keep you cumming every night" made me SO squeamish, even if they don't know what it means!

I used to wonder what people would think when Michaela says her favorite band is Green Day. Maybe not the most appropriate band for a 5-year-old to listen to! Oops.

My first experience with this was when I heard a little girl at my cousins pre-school sing "If you wanna be with me, baby there's a price you pay. I'm a genie in a bottle, you gotta rub me the right way." Wrong on so many levels ;)

I have this problem where I just tune out the lyrics to all songs. I just never hear them. But when Halle stared singing Rhianna's "Rude Boy" (Boy is you big enough, boy can you get it up? Tonight I'm a gonna let you do your thing.),I started to realize that I should probably know what I'm letting them listen too. Nope, don't need my 9 year old singing that stuff!

It's a whole different thing when it's your KIDS singing it huh? I told Stephen (who is 18 mind you) that Ludicris' "How low" is about haggling for a used car. LOL!!

I don't think he believed me but it made me feel better.

LOL! That is hilarious! I've been hearing The Red Hot Chili Peppers coming out of the boys' room. I don't even want to imagine what Rose will be singing in another few years. She's already a naturist, I'm sure her music will reflect it.
