We have an amazing back yard. It is one of the things that really sold this house (besides the granite counter tops and stainless steel appliances). There is an actual yard...but then there is the woods. And it's not exactly wild woods as there are gravel paths and even torches to mark the way to the creek. I can see the creek from my kitchen (I can now...but when the leaves come back to the trees, I won't be able to see a thing!) and it is just a peaceful sight. Last week we had a huge storm - which was desperately needed - but thought you might like to see the raging creek...and the sea of tranquility:.jpg)

Thanks, I feel like I just went on a pleasant little walk ... all from the comfort of my computer chair. sigh, It's just not the same. What a beautiful yard, and stream and woods and paths. What a blessing to live amongst such beauty.

I was just whining on someone else's blog that I am so tired of brown, brown, brown and that I'm really looking forward to spring and COLOR. Now I'm gonna whine a little on your blog about how I miss water. I never ever thought about it when I lived in Florida, but water really is so peaceful and refreshing (and raging at times!). We have so little water here. Most of the year, the creeks are just dried, cracked mud. :-(

I love your backyard! We have the same view, just minus the house! Oh well, maybe one day we will build the house, for now we have to land and a tent!
We have almost 2 acres - we have a pie shaped lot, so most of the land is behind the house. The kids love being back there - they are in the creek most of the summer. And we have great wildlife - lots of deer, hawks, owls, bats - and no squirrels in this culdesac!

Gorgeous view, I'd love land like that. I'm odd, I love living right downtown in the city now, but I love country as well. It's the in-between suburban landscape I can't stand.
Ahhh...but this is suburbia! We are in a neighborhood of about 500 homes - our house is on the culdesac. The difference is that our neighborhood was built in the late 70s and early 80s...when the houses didn't all look alike...and when they weren't 10 feet from one another. We have almost 2 acres - the house on one side has a little over one; on the other side, they have 5 acres. From the front, you would never know that we have that much land - the houses behind us are pretty far away and I just see them in the winter - never with full foilage. Suburbia is not so bad! :-)

When I was a kid, we lived in a house house , in NZ, that backed on to a wood. We would see deer, rabbits, the occassional wild pig, possums and heaps of bird life.
