Conversations with Madalyn

So this morning, I am standing in my bathroom. Putting my hair up in a pony tail as I get ready for water aerobics. Putting in my contacts. When Madalyn comes in and has me help her fix her hair. I am wetting it down when she notices a q-tip laying on my counter. It is black on both ends. So she asks me "what is that?!"And I tell her that I didn't take off my make-up last night. So, it's from my mascara under my eyes.

And she says "So you tie-dyed your hair?!"And I tell her no. I did not tie-dye my hair. Or dye it. I used the q-tip to get the smeared mascara off my face.

And she says "so that black stuff was in your ears?!"

I think she likes to hear the sound of her own voice...

She is SOOOO much like my soon to be 8 year old. Boy wouldn't that have been something if the black had come from your ears? Ewwwww...

I have two daughters that like the sound of their own voices. They never listen to the answer!

Love Vertigo.

She thinks too much. It would make my head hurt!

She just knows how to make you talk!! My old constantly says "What do you mean?" even if it to the simplest thing like "you need to go take a shower now." She likes to hear MY voice. MY youngest is like Madelyn. Totally.

She is too funny - great song choice. You never visit me anymore, what's up with that?

How exactly do you tie-dye your hair? I might be interested in doing that one day.

And a little piece of advice...it's never good to put mascara in your ears. Errr, wait you said eyes...oh hell maybe I like to watch myself type. I can relate to lil miss belly dancer.

Wait, am I a bad influence? I should encourage your children to sass back, should I? I'll go hang my head in time out.

I love her little belly dancing outfit! Madalyn has such style.

I don't usually take my makeup off before bed, either, so my kids are used to raccoon eyes.

I SOooooo see this conversation happening with my oldest in a few years. It amazes me to hear the stuff that she "hears" me say.
