Friday Follies

Thank you all so much for your inquiries as to where I have been this week. I am not sick. I am not stuck in a coal mine. Or without internet service. I have been busy having a power struggle with my youngest. And it has taken all of my energy. Which I believe is the ultimate goal. And on top of that...well...I have my typical case of blog block.

Today is the last day to enter the huge Greatest Hits prize give away. There are 337 entries. Are you one of them? Or two? Or three?

But...today is the day for our question and answer session. And I am back to outsourcing. Today's outsourcing comes straight from my own house. With Katie asking you all the questions. You know. Katie has her own blog. She even guest posted for Blog around the world. And loves comments just as much as the rest of us. So, maybe after you answer her questions here, you can stop by and say hello to her. And you might want to get a snack too. Because almost all of her questions are about food.

Fried chicken or marinated chicken?

Cookies or cookie dough?

Hot fudge or caramel on your vanilla ice cream?

What is your favorite kind of pie?

If you could have any male celebrity sign your cast, who would you pick?

What is your favorite piece of chicken?

What is your favorite girl scout cookie? (I'm selling them. Wanna buy some?)

What snacks do you eat at the movies?

What is your favorite flavor of ice cream?

Have you tried my Mom's grits casserole recipe? Have you? Have you?? Have you?

(And would you like to be an out - source? Let me know in the comments and we can pick a Friday for you to have control!)

Fried chicken rocks.

Cookies because cookie dough has raw eggs and I can't get past that fact, no matter how good it tastes.

I prefer vanilla ice cream plain. But hot fudge isn't too bad.

Depending on my mood, I love apple pie and chocolate pie.

The male celebrity I would like to sign my cast would be Johnny Depp (but only if he's dressed up as Captain Jack Sparrow) or Chef Gordon Ramsey.

Favorite piece of chicken? The leg?

I can't remember my favorite girl scout cookie. I like short bread cookies or chocolate chip or any chocolate/peanut butter combo. I don't like chocolate mints.

I don't snack at the movies. Ok, just kidding. Total lie. Hot tamales!!

I don't like ice cream. Ok, LYING again. plain vanilla or cookies and cream...BLUE BELL ICE CREAM ONLY.

I haven't tried your mom's grits yet, but I will...eventually.

This is really making my hungry.

Good questions, Katie!!

And I'd love to be an out source again! I might get crazy though...

MMM, Fried Chicken!

Definitely Cookies, no dough!

Yes! okay, hot fudge!

Rhubarb pie is my favorite.

Tough one. Ty Pennington. He's a celebrity right?

Chicken Breast. I only like the white meat, but not the wing!

Peanut butter ones! Not the ones with the chocolate. The sandwiches!!!

At the movies, I have a large diet pepsi, and a medium popcorn with extra butter and milk duds. Bite of popcorn, with a milk dud!

Favorite generic ice cream flavor is chocolate. Favorite brand/flavor is Ben & Jerry's Chubby Hubby.

Have not tried the Grits Casserole. I'll have to think about it. I want to like grits, I really do!

Great questions Katie!!!

I'm a marinated chicken girl, but I had fried tonight for dinner.

Definitly cookies, but an occasional dough ball finds it way to my mouth while the cookies are getting done.

Hot fudge mixed with carmel over vanilla with a banana. My all time favorite sundae.

Chocolate (my mom's recipe), but peanut butter is a close second.

So many to choose from, but today it would be Johnny Depp.

The breast, all white meat for me.

Thin Mints and Samoas (but I don't think they're called that anymore). LOVE them.

Popcorn, pop, and jr mints.

Mint chip or vanilla

We love your mom's grits casserole at our house. We have it about twice a month. Good stuff! So glad I was introduced to it.

(And Kat, yes, I'd be willing to out-source if you absolutely needed me too. Anything for you lady!)

1. Oh thats a toughy... I like fried chicken. I am from the south and its so good down there.

2. Ugh this is so hard! I have to say cookies.. I love the crunchy-ness and the way the chocolate melts in your mouth.

3. Ohh Banana Cream Pie! YUM!

4. It would be Brad Pitt. ( call me cliche but he is a stud)

5. The Thigh!

6. Oh I would have to say the Thin Mints! They are to die for. Oh you should put them in the freezer!

7. I love the minute maid frozen pink lemonade! And eating chocolate at the same time as my popcorn.. ( its like chocolate covered popcorn)

8. Neopolition! Yum!

9. I haven't but i should!

Fried, but only original recipe-style fried, not crispy.

Cookie dough. Been known to make it just for the dough, never intending it to be baked.

Either.

Pumpkin.

Patrick Dempsey.

White meat.

Thin mints and sorry, I'm grounded.

Reese's Pieces

Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough from B&J's.

No, grits scare me.

Fried hands down.
Cookies
Hot fudge
Apple Pie
Either of the men from Numb3rs, I am SO addicted to the Epps boys! (Rob Morrow and David Krumholtz, an FBI agent or a mathematician, either would be just fine..)
Breast
I would so buy them if I could, the peanut butter ones and thin mints! Do you ship internationally??
Popcorn and Hot Tamales, they go great together!
Moose Tracks or Peanut Butter Cup or during holidays Peppermint Stick.
No, sadly I don't do grits.

1 .. Yummm.. Fried chicken !!

2 .. Cookie dough, especially if it's chocolate chip..

3 .. I like both. have even been known to put them both on at the same time.

4 .. I'm very partial to strawberry pie..

5 .. Johnny Depp, of course !!

6 .. White meat.

7 .. I like those Thin Mints, especially after they've been in the freezer. The caramel ones are good as well..

8 .. Good and Plenty's

9 .. Hokey Pokey Icecream ..

10 .. No I haven't. But I think that I'm going to have to..

marinated chicken

Cookies fresh from the oven

Hot fudge & caramel on your vanilla ice cream?

coconut cream pie

I am old so I would love Richard Dryfres.

My favorite piece of chicken is the one I did not have to cook.

Thin Mints frozen

I have been to the movies 1 time in the last 4 years. So popcorn

BLUE BELL (Texas ice cream) any flavor

will have to try mom's grits!

Out-sourced!
I would ask about the music
it is always about the music
here i am singing and dancing away again at your blog.

Fried. Isn't everything better fried?

Cookies. Don't get me wrong, I won't turn down the dough either, but warm cookies? Seriously.

Hot fudge. I am all about the chocolate. Dear Katie, are you trying to make me go eat M&Ms for breakfast?

I like chocolate pie. Although I'm not much for pie. I never eat the crust.

Let's go with McSteamy. Yum.

Chicken breasts.

I like the ones with the coconut and caramel. The name is different every other year, so I'm not sure what it's called. My 4th grade girls will be hitting me up today, I'm sure.

I'm not a moviegoer these days, but that's the only place I eat popcorn.

I like anything with hunks of brownies.

I'm not even sure what grits are. So no, I have not.

Great questions! Off to eat some ice cream before I wake up the children. Just kidding. Maybe.

Michelle said...

Ok, here goes:

Love fried but always get marinated.

COOKIES are my weakness.

Carmel.

Apple Cranberry. Yum.

Rob of course. Did you need to ask.

Breast is best.

Peanut Butter.

Popcorn. I love movie theater popcorn. Sometimes I go to the movie just so I can have popcorn.

Mint Chocolate Chip.

I don't think I like grits.

Just wanted you to know that I missed posting this week and felt much better about it when I saw that you were MIA, so thanks for that but sorry for the reason.

Runner Girl said...

Definitely marinated chicken!

Cookie dough, for sure.

Hot fudge!

Apple--prepared as described by Sally in "When Harry met Sally!"

Dustin Hoffman

Don't remember the name of the girl scout cookies--they keep changing them--but the ones with carmel and coconut!

Is there any other movie snack besides Junior Mints?

Chocolate Ice Cream.

Tasted grits for the first time last month, I say no thank you!

What is an "out-source?"

Keys to the Magic Travel said...

I like 'em both. Fried chicken from Church's is my favorite. But a piece of chicken marinated in teriyaki is rather yummy too.

Cookies. Even though with my daughter. And my husband in the house, there is not much dough left to make the cookies.

Hot fudge. And peanuts.

Chocolate.

Gerard Butler.

Thigh

thin mints straight out of the freezer. Or do-si-dos (which are the peanut butter creme). I'll buy eventually.

Large coke zero. Large popcorn. And smuggled in peanut m&ms. All shared with my greedy children.

Blue Bell Tin Roof sundae. Which they don't sell in Georgia. Maybe that is a good thing.

Yep. Since I make it.

Shannon said...

First of all, I was thisclose to sending you an email, asking what the deal was, why you hadn't posted. Now I feel like a loser for not doing so!

OK, on to the questions:

Fried.

Cookies.

Caramel.

I don't like pie. Of any kind.

Just one? I could no sooner choose which of my kids is my favorite! It'd be a close race between Gerard Butler and Christian Bale.

Drumstick.

Trefoils... I love shortbread cookies!

Popcorn from the theater. I sometimes sneak in a 20 oz. bottle of Coke and some peanut M&Ms or Milk Duds.

Gold Medal Ribbon from Baskin Robbins... it's vanilla and chocolate ice cream with a ribbon of caramel swirled in it... YUM!!!

Nope. We've had this discussion... I don't like grits! But one of these days I will copy down the recipe and give it to my sister!

Great questions, Katie! This is a subject near and dear to me... FOOD!

Heather said...

Hi, Katie! Thanks for the Disney tips yesterday :)

Here's my answers.

Fried chicken.

Cookie dough, and one batch of fresh from the oven choc chip cookies made with real butter only.

I don't like ice cream.

Chicken pot pie (yep, I'm weird, not much of a sweet tooth here)

Patrick Dempsey (hey, he plays a doctor you know)

Fried: thigh (the best skin); baked: breast (the best meat)

Lemonades. And yes, I'll buy some. Email me.

Only popcorn.

I told you, I don't like ice cream. Weren't you listening?

Nope. But I like grits. It's just that no one else in my family does.

Great questions.

sassy stephanie said...

Well Katie,

Fried at your age. Marinated at mine.

Cookies

As much as I LUV chocolate, I want caramel

I like peach cobbler.

Why am I so hungry all of a sudden?

Sean Connery or Marky Mark, but he's my boyfriends, so I see him all the time.

I love the basic shortbreads.

A movie without popcorn is no movie at all.

Blue Bell pistachio almond.

Nope. Not yet. Sounds very yummy though.

Katie, it was a pleasure. I am heading to the kitchen for a snack. I will be sending you my Weight Watchers bill.

sassy stephanie said...

Kat, I love your new profile pic.

Skeller said...

Marinated, for sure.
Probably dough. Tho I like cookies, too.
Neither. I like my [good] vanilla ice cream straight up.
My Grammy's cherry pie.
I'm way too shy to ask any celebrity (male or not) to sign my cast.
Breast.
Thin Mint. yummmmmm.
Don't buy snacks - way too expensive. Hey, as a matter of fact, I don't go to movies. Way too expensive. I'd rather buy camera gear. ;-)
Good vanilla. Mint chip. Dolce de leche.
Nope. I'm just not a grits kinda gal.
Happy Friday to you Kat. May your struggles with your youngest be few & far between this weekend! BTDT. Still doing that.

Unknown said...

Um - ditto to Shannon - I was gonna see what was up but I hate harrassing people so I didn't.

Marinated plase

Cookie dough

Mmmm.. my mom's homemade hot fudge.

Pecan!

Just one guy? Does Mr. B count as a celebrity? At least around my blog? Alright - I'm gonna go with Patrick Dempsey too because I've love him long time!

Breast!

The ones with the caramel & the coconut... what are those called again?

Popcorn and milk duds.

Mint chocolate chip (or peppermint bon bon as we say in Minnesota)

I haven't, and I probably won't.. Grits are to... gritty.

I WOULD like to be an outsource if you dare to have me.

Anonymous said...

Katie--these are really hard questions. i will try my best to give you the right answers, but i'm a little worried about that!

i thought fried at first, but sometimes the stomach ache that follows isn't worth it. so i will go with marinated. for now.
do you know i was just talking to the Principal at our school who says he eats cookie dough instead of cookies? i was shocked because he's usually very good at following the rules. i am going to say cookie for now. because i am on weight watchers and it's easier to know how to count the number of cookies you've had. i tend not to notice how much cookie dough i've shoveled into my mouth.
hot fudge. but definitely i love caramel too.
all kinds of pie. i can't think of any i don't like. is that the wrong answer? geez i hope not.
sigh. i am in love with McSteamy and Clive Owen. but my favorite male celebrity is Maurice Bernard, who plays Sony on General Hospital. We go way back and I would break a leg to wear a cast if it meant he would sign it. yep.
love wings. definitely my favorite. thin mints baby! can you order 4 boxes of any cookies and donate them to the soldiers? do you have that program? sign me up and i will send your momma a check for 4 boxes.
i love movie popcorn. that's your Mom's fault by the way. make sure you blame her.
rocky road wins my ice cream vote. sigh.
i have not tried the famous grits casserole recipe. should i? really? i can't tell what your feelings are about this. hmm.
love you tons! great questions!

1)Marinated. I think.

2)Chocolate chip cookies. I think I'll go make some.

3)Hot fudge. Then I'll eat that and give you the icecream- because I don't like it.

4)Pumpkin

5)I would have let Heath Ledger sign anything he wanted- as long as he signed it "Sir William"

6)Thigh. Seriously.

7)Samoas, but they make me fat just being in my house.

8)I won't buy snacks at the movie theater- but at home I like dry Honey Comb.

9)I don't like icecream, remember? But I love rainbow sherbet. Technically, it's not icecream.

10) No. I should. We LOVE polenta.

10. I haven't.. I don't like grits. Maybe I'll make it just to try it, though. :)

Fried - I'm southern.

Either, both. :]

Hot fudge. And whipped cream. And a cherry.

Pecan

Matt Sanders (A7X) or Leonardo Dicaprio

I only hate the thigh

Thin mints; I still have 4 boxes from last year.

Popcorn - Always. Candy - Sometimes.

Ben & Jerry's banana split, or peanut butter cup, or Phish Food, or...well you get the idea

No. I don't like grits. Still southern though!

Michelle said...

Soooo, are we going to get to hear about the power struggle? ;)

Marinated. Yum!

Dough. Hands down, dough. We used to make the Tollhouse recipe sans chips (they don't taste good frozen) and put in marshmallows instead and eat it straight from the freezer as a kid. Yum!

Both? Is that an option?

Oooo favorite pie. Brown bag caramel apple streusel

Ummm. No idea. I don't know that I'd want one to sign actually. Does that make me weird?

Breast

The caramel ones. And I just bought 4 boxes from a friend of mine, sorry!

I don't eat at the movies. At home I make stove popped (Alton Brown method) popcorn with a touch of salt. And I think I'm going to eat that tonight actually.

Caramel dulce de leche. Or cake batter (Cold Stone). Or Gold Medal Ribbon from Baskins (which they NEVER have)

I have not tried it. And I can't get over grits' texture. I just can't even try to eat them. Sorry, Kat :) I'm not Southern!

Fried chicken ... my mama made the best!

Cookies ... although I always lick the bowl

Hot fudge AND caramel ... is that wrong?

Pie ... I am all about pie ... there really isn't a pie I don't like. But my absolute favorite is cherry. It just makes me happy.

Hmmm ... maybe Colin Firth. Or Russell Crowe.

Drumstick first, then breast.

I love the thin mints ... always have. I used to sell them myself! And I would totally buy some from you if I hadn't already placed my order with the neighbor across the street.

Movies must have Pepsi, popcorn, Red Vines and Junior Mints. That's just the rules.

Ice cream ... B&J's Phish Food

Oooo ... I'll have to try the grits casserole Thanks!

Breast (chicken)

The peanut butter and chocolate ones - are they called Tagalongs?

We used to get popcorn until my 8 year old got braces. Now we abstain completely. And I always bought a diet coke but I won't be doing that now anymore either, will I?

Turtle ice cream and I also like Key lime pie ice cream (sounds disgusting but it's very light and refreshing!)

I have tried your mom's grits casserole and we LOVED it! Thanks to Kat and to PW!

Fried chicken, all the way!

Cookies-- my mother always told me raw eggs would make me sick.

Hot fudge

Marie Calendar's makes it, it's called razzleberry.

Nicholas Sparks. He's a celbrity, right? SOOO dreamy... I love a man who can write.

I love the breast meat

Is it girl scout cookie time? I love me some girl scout cookies! Thin Mints and shortbread are always good. Do they still make the HoDowns (chocolate covered peanut butter)? What about the chocolate-caramel-coconut ones? I remember those being delicious!

I MUST have popcorn at the movies-- extra butter, extra salt.

I'm not big on ice cream. I do like an Its-it on a hot summer day.

No, I'm sorry, I haven't tried the grits casserole. Or any type of grits at all, for that matter. Are they good? They look like runny mashed potatoes, and I can't get past that.

I love Katie...she needs some Edward love...remind me to get back to you/her on that one.

I love both fried & marinated chicken. But really--what beats fried?

BOTH--cookies and the dough!

Caramel--and it's said, "CARE-a-mel," people. There ain't a "car" in that word.

Derby pie--chocolate chips and pecans and butter and bourbon, oh my!

Um...well, Katie, since you might be unaware...I have a celebrity boyfriend. I do, yes. His name is Jason and he is divine. The divine Mr. Statham, indeed.

I love me some breasts.

I refuse to eat GS cookies this year, due to the shedding of pounds. But I love the CARE-a-mel, cocnut thingies.

Peanut M&Ms mixed with popcorn--now that's pure delight.

Lime sherbet and peanut butter & chocolate.

No, I have not tried your mom's grits, but I do make cheese grits and they are divine. In fact a meal of cheese grits, crab legs, and tiramisu would be my most favorite in the world. YUMMY.
