Happy Halloween ya'll! Enjoy my holiday edition of the follies...and next week we are back to guest inquisitors (and the queue is still open if you would like to ask the questions!):
Trick or treat with the kids OR stay home to hand out candy?
What kind of Halloween candy are you giving out tonight? (Is it the same candy you first bought - or did you have to go back to the store and get more when it all "magically" disappeared from your house?)
What was your favorite Halloween candy when you were a kid? What candy did you always try to give away?
Do you decorate your house for Halloween?
What kind of carving is on your pumpkin?
Have you ever TP'd or egged someone's house?
Favorite scary movie?
Favorite scary book?
Favorite Disney villan?
Favorite movie villan?
Theme song: Talking Heads - Psycho Killer AND Cranberries - Zombie -- because Kid Rock has totally ruined Warren Zevon's "Werewolves of London."

Wow! I'm the first to comment, but then I'm up way too late.
I'll take Rose to a few houses, but then she and I will stay home to give out candy.
All chocolate, all the time.
I don't remember what I liked as a kid.
I decorate a little for Halloween.
See my blog for my pumpkin.
I have TP'd, and forked houses for Halloween.
hmm..Define scary movie. Blood and guts traditional 80's slasher flick scary or what they pass off as scary these days? How about Poltergeist?
Amityville Horror was a pretty scary book, so I'll go with that one.
Milificent is the ultimate Disney villan, and so stylish with that horned hat and greenish skin.
Movie villan? I can't pick.
Good questions! I'll have to ask my oldest the last four--I'm sure he'd have a terrible time deciding!
Happy Halloween!
OOOOOHHHH...a Halloween edition. You are so fun.
Because we live in the country, we have to DRIVE our kids to trick-or-treat. Which bums me out, 'cause doggone it...my brother and I had to work for our candy...no driving around in a warm car or nothin'...
I am giving out NO candy. 'Cause I'll be driving my kids around. (With "The Great Pumpkin" playing as we drive.)
Was and still is Peanut M&Ms. I am not a huge candy corn fan, so finding that in my loot never impressed me.
We decorate for fall more than we do for Halloween.
No carved pumpkins...like I have time to carve a pumpkin, Kat!
Never egged--that's just plain wrong. But I have rolled many a house in my time--I am quite skilled in the art of rolling, too. I'm also good at spooning and forking a yard. Yep.
The Exorcist and The Watcher in the Woods.
It, by Stephen King.
Maleficent in Sleeping Beauty. (Dude--she turns into a dragon. 'Nuff said.)
Darth Vader.
trick or treat with the kids and a wagon to hold the portable bar
haven't bought yet...reallY!
I love Jolly Ranchers and chocolate with nuts, and chocolate without nuts, and chocolate with nougat, and chocolate with caramel....etc..
I dont' like candy corn or anything 'peeps'-like
I have a few pumpkins out front. Trash bound on Saturday.
We have a kit from Pottery Barn that you insert into the pumpkins to make faces. Lame.
Never TP'd or egged anyone. I am too whimpy and not destructive.
Movie = the Shining
Book = the Shining
Disney or Movie Villian = gotta think about these...
Go with the kids for a while. They're little, so an hour is enough. Then hand out candy. Then get tired of answering the door so put the bowl on the porch and assume very happy teenagers will take care of it in 4.2 seconds.
Let's see...Reese's cup (in theory, although those just might stay in the pantry), Snickers, Butterfinger, Baby Ruth, 100 Grand, and Twix. I just bought it Wednesday, but trust me...I've made a significant dent in it.
I've always preferred the chocolate stuff. Do not need Nerds or Skittles or suckers.
3 pumpkins on the porch. That's it.
Shawn did it-triangle eyes and nose, standard mouth.
I think we did some TPing in high school.
Silence of the Lambs!
Don't read scary books.
Cruella
Hannibal the Cannibal
It may be wrong but i loved those sugar candies called Smarties.
I will have to echo the person that said Amityville Horror. That is bar none the scariest movie ever! (Orig not sucky remake.)
John Saul's early work was very psychological and freaky. *shiver*
Happy Halloween! :)
Daaaannngg. Keepin' us busy this morning.
Handing out candy. I love seeing all the little ones dressed up.
We have Twizzlers and Jolly Rancher cause I'm cheap.
Snickers, always was and still is my fav. Always gave away Good n Plenty, yuk. (Sorry Betty)
Decorate for all with pumpkins.
Don't carve. I save it to add a cute wooden turkey thingy made of wood, makes my pumpkin look like a turkey, know what I am talkin' about?
Heck yah, take my daughter to TP now. (Well, I don't but hubby does)
Salems Lot
The Shining
Cruella De Vil
The Joker (both Heath Ledger and Jack Nicholson)
Have a Happy Halloween and good weekend.
Trick or treat with the kids
Won't be giving out any candy... we're going to my mom's neighborhood to trick-or-treat. So no one will be here to give any out. But I still bought 3 bags of candy... made goody bags for my nieces and nephews
Anything chocolate. I don't know what they're called, but I never liked the nougat-y candy that's always wrapped in either a black or orange wrapper...
yes, we decorate for Halloween
Did not carve pumpkins this year... took the lazy way out and had the girls paint their pumpkins. Which I bought at walmart.
Yes, I have TP'd a house (or two) but I have never egged a house
I can't think if a favorite scary movie or book...
Malificent. Or Scar from "The Lion King"
Heath Ledger's Joker gave me the heebee jeebees for days after I saw "The Dark Knight"... oooo, I still shiver thinking about it...
I like to stay home. I am lazy and it's fun to see everyone's costumes.
We are giving out sour skittles and m&ms. We don't get many trick or treaters. We live in a huge neighborhood - like 500 houses. But you have to walk up a huge hill to get to the houses on the street and my culdesac...so most people opt out and stay on the main street through the subdivision.
I LOVED pixie sticks as a kid. (Ewww...)I don't remember trying to give away any. Maybe stuff with coconut or gum...
We have a crypt keeper skeleton that hangs by the front door. A tombstone in the flower bed. And a Halloween banner that hangs between some trees. Oh...and a black cat hanging on the front door.
Michael is very crafty. He created/drew a two headed kitty monster for our pumpkin.
I haven't done either.
Does the 6th Sense count? Also love Poltergeist.
I used to only read scary books. But now I can't remember the last time I did. Stephen King is pretty scary. And "The Shining" is very scary.
Disney villan- Scar - because I love Jeremy Irons. That voice...
Movie Villan - Alan Rickman does the BEST villans. Hans Gruber in Die Hard. The Sheriff in Robin Hood, Prince of Theives. Snape in the Harry Potter movies.
Girl, I do not miss the free candy. Hubby gets to stay home and hand it out.
This year, church carnival tonight, neighborhood hay ride/trick or treat tomorrow night.
I always give tha good stuff: chocolate.
Believe it or not, I just tp'd someones house about 3 weeks ago. Well, really, my BF's 13 yr old daughter did, but I took her to do it. Don't worry...not a mean TP. It was one of her best buds.
I don't do scary movies, although I am a total Halloween freak. Weird? Yes.
Fave villan: My boyfriend Marky Mark in Fear. I can love him even when he is evil.
I like to stay home and hand out candy because I love to see the costumes, but when you're a single mom, that don't happen.
As of right now I haven't bought any. Not sure we'll ever be home to give out.
MILK DUDS!!!! Sometimes there would be a bonus 3rd dud in the box and that was HEAVEN!!! I also love the homemade popcorn balls my daycare mom made. Least favorite was raisins... that's so wrong.
We have a few little odds and ends... not much though.
Mine is a big smiley face, & the Ladies are... other kinds of faces.
I've done neither, but had it done to my house multiple times. When you live with an elementary Principal it's just sort of a given.
6th Sense
There's a Monster at the End of This Book.
Maleficent
I'm gonna have to go with Alan Rickman in Robin Hood "I'll cut his heart out with a spoon." "Why a spoon cousin?" "Because it's DULL you twit, it'll HURT more."
ToT w/the kid. Always.
Not giving out any. We live in the country. No one tricks or treats out here. We go in town to do our trick or treating.
Ohhhh.....gum and Smarties I kept. I always tried to give away the kinds that were wrapped in those black and orange wrappers. I think it was some sort of peanut butter nougat stick to the roof of your mouth nastiness.
Heck yeah! First time ever this year. I've been waiting all my life to do this. I couldn't do it in New Orleans because people would just steal your stuff off your porch and I didn't do it last year cause I didn't have any external plugs, but this year, I totally decorated!
Whatever light of my life came up with. That's the only condition we have. She has to do the drawing on the pumpkin and I'll carve whatever it is.
Nope, but I always wanted to!
Return to the Blue Lagoon. Have you ever SEEN that movie? I don't know how it got green lit. It's horrible.
Anything by Stephen King.
Maleficent.
Kaiser Soze.
We don't have kids, and we live in a condo community that doesn't have many children, so we have never had a single trick-or-treater come to our door. :( Every year we buy candy and hope for a knock...
The bag of mixed chocolate stuff (Reese's, Kit-Kats, TakeFives, etc) somehow disappeared, so I have to go buy more today. You know, for all of the trick-or-treaters we're sure to get THIS year.
BIT O'HONEYS!!!! I used to freaking LOVE those things! I hated the taffy-like stuff in the black or orange wax paper. YUCKY POOPOO. I always tried to get rid of that-- the trick was to trade quantity for quality. "Hey, I'll give you five of these for that one bit o'honey!"
We have four small candle things we put in the windows. Two of them are pumpkins I got at Michael's years ago, and they're my favorite decorations I've ever had!
All smiles.
I rolled Kathleen McGregor's house in 11th grade, but it wasn't on Halloween.
I don't like scary movies, so I don't have a favorite.
Intensity, by Dean Koontz, scared me to death. That, and Along Came a Spider, by James Patterson.
Ursula, from The Little Mermaid. Oh, closely followed by Scar, from The Lion King!
Alan Rickman as SNAPE!!!!
It's always a struggle this time of the year not to let the kids in on many ways I have "tricked" over the years on Halloween (hey, those kids wanted to get scared!), but I have managed pretty well so far to restrain myself (mostly for fear of the "wrath of Kat" if I give the girls any ideas they might carry out).
Going trick or treating with the kids tonight, while Kat eats— er, I mean hands out m&ms and sour skittles. There's a house in the neighborhood that does a "haunted house" in their backyard every Halloween, so we'll go through there too tonight.
My favorite Halloween candy as a kid was Kit Kat (though they're just OK to me now), I never really liked candy corn (but love Lewis Black's rant about it).
Kat listed the decorations on the house. More gore would be nice, but takes much more time than I have available.
I carved a 2 headed kitty monster on our pumpkin last night (gotta be original). We have kitty monsters inside the house already, I figured they'd serve as a good inspiration for a unique pumpkin outside.
TP'd many times (best one involved 96 rolls); never egged... considered that more vandalism than a prank.
Alien is my favorite scary movie; Pet Sematary favorite scary book.
Favorite Disney villain: Chernabog from Fantasia (He can raise ghosts, monsters, and demons and can summon fire... HOW COOL!)
Favorite Movie Villain: I have 2 - Frank Booth (Dennis Hopper) in Blue Velvet, Annie Wilkes (Kathy Bates) in Misery... though Heath Ledger's Joker is great too.
So we all know that I tend to swim upstream...
Tonight, like the last 10 years, I will order pizza, turn off the lights, close the gates, and have a pizza-movie marathon with my kids- and since it is Friday, I may just let them pass out in front of the TV.
Would love to stay home and hand out candy, but hubby doesn't like to take the kids around, so I do it.
Air heads and I bought those only 2days ago so they'd still be around for tonight.
Anything chocolate, it was such a novelty then. Now everyone hands it out. I hated those p.b. halloween taffy things.
More fall this year, cause I'm too lazy to dig out the Halloweend boxes.
Jack Skelington
Nope, never done either. I'm a good kid.
Signs..aliens creep me out!
Something by Dean R Koonz, his are all scary.
Cruella DeVille
Heathe Ledger in Batman, too bad he's dead, cause he was a great villan.
Neither; football game in the cold with teenager
None; see above, although I am bringing a few bags to the school for the band
Candy bars of any kind - those always went first. I try to give away the "good" stuff like candy bars, reese cups...not the cheap no-name crap.
Yes! I should take pics...
No real pumpkins this year.
No! And that's my final answer.
Nightmare on Elm Street when I was a kid; The Ring
It by Stephen King
Cruella De Vil
Wicked Witch of the West :)
Oh and I heart the Cranberries song!
Stay at home to hand out candy, but I have to work late :(
Reese's, KitKat and coupon for Wendy's Frosty (Greg's idea)
Reese's was my favorite!
Yes, I love to decorate for any reason/season!
No carving... but maybe next year!
Yes, once I TP'd someone's house and it was on Halloween night! Bad me...
Don't like scary movies, so no favorite.
Scary book hmmm... do vampire books count?
I'm with the majority - Scar - Lion King
I rather like going out with the kids. But as they are now in NZ, I'll be staying home to hand out candy. That's fun though .. looking at all the cute costumes :-)
Ummmmmm .... lets just say I need to make a quick run to the store and leave it at that !! :-)
NZ didn't have Halloween when I was growing up :-(
I did last year, then gave away all my Halloween stuff, as I wasn't expecting to still be here. Didn't buy any this year, so we ain't decorated. :-( Other than two cramic pumpkins, that you put lights inside. I'm going to be hiting the sales after Halloween, for the discounted stuff, as apparently Halloween is beginning to be celebrated back home.
Didn't do one this year .. but I had an awesome one last year :-)
No ...
The Birds .... I still get the shivers when I see lines of birds sitting on powerlines ...
Any books by Stephen King, Dean Koontz or John Saul ...
Captain Jack Sparrow, of course !! :-) He's sort of a heroic villian, don't you think ?
Heath Ledger in 'Batman' ... he was great !!
- stay home to hand out candy, until I have a little goblin to take ToTing
- giving out tonight- M&Ms- mom bought too much and split it with us
- favorite Halloween candy when you were a kid was Reese PB cups -What candy did you always try to give away? -that orange snd brown taffy-blob stuff

-I have TP'd someone's house?- we call it rolling
-Favorite scary movie-Exorcist
-Favorite scary book- Carrie
-Favorite Disney villan-Ursula (Little Mermaid)
-Favorite movie villan- Joker in Batman
1. Half and half.
2.I purposely buy candy I don't like to eat! If I'd been handing out Bottlecaps--they'd all be gone now! LOVE THOSE! Instead I bought the Willy Wonka mix. Don't feel too strongly about Nerds and Laffy Taffy!
3. I loved bottlecaps (still do!) and Reeses. I'd always give away tootsie rolls and lollipops because there were soooo many of them!
4.It is all decorated! Not over the top--but you'd know it was holiday!
5.Screaming face!
6.TP yes--that's funny. Egg--no, that's destructive. (my friend use to work at McDonalds and had the key to the TP dispensers there with those MEGA rolls of TP in them.....we were expert toilet paperers....with stolen TP :o !)
7. Hitchcock's Wait Until Dark
8.Ursula the sea witch.
9.Professor Snape. mmmmm....I'm having naughty thoughts about Professor Snape right now....hee hee.
Both. Go out at my brother's house and hand out at ours.
Mini Snickers and Mini Milky Ways:-) This was the first bag we bought because we got a lot from my brother's house and lots of cupcakes.
I always loved Reese's Peanutbutter cups and I gave away the Smarties.
We decorate the inside but not the outside:-(
We have scary faces on our pumpkins.
In the 80's we egged a neighbor's house.
I don't like scary movies but if I had to pick...Freddie Krueger.
I don't like scary books:-(
My favorite Disney Villian is Cruella Deville:-)
My favorite movie villian??? Heather Ledger's Joker:-)
Trick or treat with the kids OR stay home to hand out candy? Trick or treating
What kind of Halloween candy are you giving out tonight? (Is it the same candy you first bought - or did you have to go back to the store and get more when it all "magically" disappeared from your house?) Chocolate: M&Ms, Reese, Snickers...I'm married to an evil, evil man!
What was your favorite Halloween candy when you were a kid? What candy did you always try to give away? Reeses (love em) Almond Joy or mounds (hate em)
Do you decorate your house for Halloween? Yup!
What kind of carving is on your pumpkin? An "H"
Have you ever TP'd or egged someone's house? No
I LOVE Friday Follies.
PB and I alternate years going out and staying home because we both like doing either job so much.
We're handing out the original candy, but I made sure to get the Reese's mix because it's my favorite.
I loved the peanut butter cups and Kit Kats. I always gave away the jawbreakers.
I go nuts in my house for Halloween.
The girls decide what kind of faces they want on their pumpkins. We have a cat, a ghost, a vampire, and a skeleton.
I have TP'd and egged someone's house.
I can't watch scary movies. I'm still afraid of the dark.
Same goes with books.
Favorite Disney villian is Snow White's evil stepmother. I like that the dwarfs push her off the cliff. No explanation required.
I love this song by Gomez. My favorite is How We Operate. I digress.
Darth Vadar is by far my favorite movie villain.
Out with the kids...nobody trick-or-treats at a farm house in the middle of a corn field.
No candy...
Fave candy? Chocolate!
No decorating for Halloween...just a few pumpkins and mums for fall.
Kids carved with G-ma and G-pa..pretty traditional jack-o-lanters.
Nope...been TPd many times though.
No scary movie..I hate them!
Scary book? Lovely Bones creeped me out. It wasn't scary but I didn't sleep well while I was reading it.
A day late .. and more than a dollar short .. oh wait, you didn't ask for a dollar did ya? Bless you :o)
Um, can I choose staying home eating the candy while watching a scary movie? No? Well then, I'd rather go out with the kids.
I never trick-or-treated as a kid, but my mom always bought a buttload of candy and my dad rented movies, and we gorged ourselves :o) I'm a big fan of candy in general, I remember being a big Laffy Taffy fan as a kid.
Nope, no decorating here. My husband probably will in the years to come. I'm just not a big decorator, period.
I helped TP the house of the youth leader from our church. He came home while we were in the process, and we all hid. I ended up in the shadows of his back porch, and he stood a foot away from me, letting his dog out to pee. I was so scared he'd see me, think I was a teeny tiny burgler, and shoot me or something. Luckily he didn't :o)
I love the Saw movies .. every single one of them.
I can't think of any at the moment..
Gaston .. he really got it good in the end. And the pig mud in the face.
Jigsaw .. cause I'm big on the whole villian monologue, and no one does a better monologue for me than Jigsaw :o)
Trick or Treat with the kids
We don't give out candy because we never have trick or treaters. Our road isn't safe for such things. However, that didn't stop me from buying candy. And eating it all. By myself.
I always loved Reese's PB Cups and Hershey bars, Snickers, Baby Ruths and hershey kisses. I always wanted to get rid of fruity candies like Skittles, Now & Laters and such.
I don't decorate just because I'm too lazy.
No carving this year. Next year I'll definitely carve one. Ok, seriously, who am I kidding?
Never tp'd or egged a house.
Don't have a fave scary movie or book.
Maleficent is my Disney Villain.
And fave villain overall is Alan Rickman as either Hans Gruber in Die Hard or the Sheriff of Nottingham in Robin Hood. I love him.
