Slacker Blogger Extraordinaire

I am a slacker. A procrastinator. It's a gift. Or a talent. A curse?

Over the past few months, I have received several awards. Sometimes twice. Some more than that. And I have yet to acknowledge them. Thank the givers. And worst of all...I have the feeling that I am forgetting someone in my acceptance speech. Simply, thank you so much for thinking of me. I love the validation and the connections that these awards generate. Thank you, thank you!

Brilliante weblog - awarded by: Sydney from Diapers and Deadlines ; Romi at It is what it is; Teri at Let Me Think on It; Kelly at Song for Whoever; Susie at Susie's Homemade

Arte De Pico, awarded by: Angie from Antics with Angie; Insane Mama at Help I have a Teenager

Sharing the love, awarded by: Angie from Antics with Angie; Shannon at Welcome to the Nut House

I Love Your blog, awarded by: Shannon at Welcome to the Nut House

So, what about you? Do you send thank you notes for gifts that you receive? When you give a gift do you expect a thank you note in return? Have you received an award in "real" life?

When I send gifts, I like to receive a thank you. When I receive gifts, I try to send a thank you.

But, sometimes I fall apart and don't get it done.

I know I've missed some awards lately.

You're awesome for tracking down them all!!!

Great post, look at all that bloggy love coming at you! I'm impressed. But, I'm your #1 fan. :o)

Congratulations on your well-deserved awards … and the reminder that I need to acknowledge a few recently received awards too ;--)

Thank you notes are a lost art. I do them for real, so do my girls. I don't do the email thank you for real gifts.

Go big or don't go at all.

You are the most "decorated" blogger I know!!!
Yep...I absolutely send thank you cards....sometimes they even get to their recipient before the trash from the present is in the can :) The funny thing is...I don't really expect for people to send ME thank you cards...???? I don't expect them but if I don't get one...I always wonder (until I see the person and they say something) if they got what I sent!!!?? Never gotten an award (that really counts) in real life...unless perfect attendance in High School counts...and awards like that...

Well, I was raised by southern women and given personalized notecards at the age of six. My girls are almost 3 and 6.5, and yes, they have their own monogrammed note cards. So this should more than prove what I feel about thank you notes. I write them for everything.

But, and I'll be honest here...I rarely expect them for anything I give...because it's a dying art, and just because I'm psycho about it doesn't mean that I expect others to feel the same.

And right now my grandmothes and aunts are rolling in their graves...

An award in real life? Um...certificates for stuff such as Honor Roll...and that's about all I can think of. Pitiful, huh?

Congrats on the awards. I loved your questions today. Just the other day I couldn't find a piece of paper for a grocery list, so I grabbed a card out of a box. Uhmmm....yah....those "cards" were the thank you cards I was SUPPOSED to send out for my wedding 11 years ago! I am the WORST and I always feel so guilty. I really do love an appreciate everything I get, I just forget to send the thank you card. I never expect a thank you card, but I do love to get them. Mail is always so fun.

Congrats on all your awards. Doesn't it give you a warm and fuzzy?

I try to respond to gifts, well-wishes and anything else of the sort. Most of the time it happens:-)

I try to always send a thank you note. Atleast an acknowledgement.
I don't really expect more than an acknowledgement.

I do thank you cards and help my girls do them as well. Actually, my 8 yo does her own now but the 5 yo still needs some help. It's sad that so many don't send thank you notes anymore. It might be a lost art? Too sad.

Anyhoo, I have never really received any awards in real life that I can think of. And my blog is award-less as well. ;) But we're workin' on it! Have a great week, Kat!

I try to send thank you notes for the major occasion gifts. And sometimes for just the smallest things too. It just depends on my mood at the time. I love to receive thank you notes, but I expect them for things like wedding, baby and grad gifts that I send. Bdays and other holidays I let slide because I don't normally do them myself. And I don't recall ever receiving a "real" award ever, but I've been getting lots of love from bloggers lately, which is better than any award that would only collect dust on the mantle.
