Seven Things

I saw this meme over on Sissy's blog. Sort of. I made some tweaks to it. And it kind of goes with my inability to come up with a Thursday Thirteen. I have 37 lists saved in word. All of them with 7 or 8 items on each list. Maybe I should do a Thursday Thirteen of all my 7 item lists. I am all about big talk. Big ideas. And no follow through.

So, along those lines, here are 4, 7 item lists. Cause 7 or 8 would be too much work.

7 things I can't do

  • dance. I have no sense of rhythm at all.
  • remember song lyrics
  • watch gory movies
  • speak plant
  • speak car
  • drink alcohol. It does not like me at all.
  • drive slowly

7 Things I do well

  • read prolifically
  • teach
  • swim
  • play trivial pursuit. I have a bastion of useless knowledge on the tip of my tongue.
  • speak pedantically
  • procrastinate
  • cook

7 Things I have never done

  • Mowed the grass
  • Shopped at a thrift store
  • Cooked on a gas grill
  • Taken the presidential fitness exam. In high school I refused to dress out for PE on those days.
  • Watched an episode of "Friends"
  • Worn a hat
  • Had a cavity

7 Things I want to do

  • Renew my vows. In Vegas. With Elvis. AND at a drive through chapel.
  • Travel, travel, travel, and then travel some more
  • Get certified to SCUBA dive - and then SCUBA dive
  • Go back to school. And get that real PhD.
  • Somehow aquire the patience to learn a new language or to play piano or something.
  • See a play on broadway
  • Host a blog stalkers convention to meet all the friends from inside my computer

So, what about you? What can you do? Can't you do? Never done? Wanna do?

What?! You have never seen an episode of 'Friends"??? That's just crazy, woman! (Of course, I'm a TV-junkie and cannot fathom that other people are not)

I think I'm going to steal this... I mean, answer the questions in a post on my own blog.

Yay for the blog stalkers convention. Do it!

Shame about the alcohol bit.

I wouldn't worry about the 'Friends' thing at all!

what a fun thing to do--listing! I support your cause 100%. can't wait to do it again!

I TOTALLY want to renew my vows in a Vegas drive through chapel too!!! PB isn't into it, but I think it would be so much fun.

What language would you want to learn?

I'm sending you a hat, damnit.

I always went to private schools and we never had any presidential fitness exam crap.

I want to travel, travel, travel too. Maybe we can be traveling buddies someday. Explore foreign countries together.

Okay, I'll play, probably on Saturday. :-)

And I completely agree with what you said in the comment you left on my blog, this morning.

Continuing on with our lives and dreaming/planning for the future, is a great way of honouring those that died on 9/11 ...

You've never mowed grass?! I was forced to mow my grandparents yard for years growing up and it was TOUGH. Huge yard.

I wish I had never had a cavity before. And I don't blame ya for not dressing out for the fitness exam. I cried every year we took it.

Great lists!

Love your lists! ALL of your "can't dos" would be on my list as well. (Except alcohol, I've never had it, but I know it would ba a BAD combo.) Hear, hear on your blogger convention someday. Hope you get to do it! (As well as all the other things on your fun list.) I might have to copy this idea in the near future for my own blog.

Never watched Friends? Nevah?

Vegas...OMGosh. My friend did her 10 yr anniv there. He wore a vintage powder blue 70s tux with ruffles and white patent shoes. She wore a black hideous sequined dress with hair so high it almost hit the ceiling! DO IT!

I'm totally challenging you to a Trivial Pursuit game

GREAT lists... what fun.

Never had a cavity? That's fantastic. I'm jealous...

I am so jealous you have never had a cavity.

I can't believe you've never been in a thrift store. I want to drag you along with me now ;o)

Totally ditto your renewing your vows in Vegas. That's on my list of things to do in the future. Should have done it in the beginning :o)

Hereby applying to be a bridesmaid at your Vegas wedding.

What can I do? Waste time with the best of 'em.

Can't do? Get into this Outlander book...I'm 3/4 of the way through and still not digging it much.

Never done? Ridden a motorcyle as a passenger...even though my dad, FIL, and husband all have one.

Wanna do? Sit on the beach and read...year round...in my beach house.

I can't believe you have never mowed the grass. I started doing that when I was in 4th grade...and I really loved it. Yeah, I know. Slow life.

I would like to go to Australia, live in Paris for awhile, and get my belly button pierced.

And I will not ever be good at calculus. Ever.

I cannot believe you've never worn a hat. But I can agree on mowing the grass...never have, hope that I never have to.

I still can't get over the fact that you've never worn a hat. Seriously?

Totally played along on my blog - thanks!

I can't believe the Friends thing!! But, I am a little biased. It was a HUGE part of my 20's. I can quote from it like most people quote Seinfeld or the movie Airplane:-)

I can play "Oh Susannah" on the harmonica. I can't bake bread. I've never gone upside down on a roller coaster before. And I WANNA play you in a game of Trivial Pursuit. I haven't had a worthy opponent ever. Bastiens of useless knowledge we are :)! Is there some internet version of the game we could hook up on, or should I wait for that blog stalkers convention? ;)

And I'll be expecting an invite to that Vegas wedding!

I can not believe you've never seen friends...wasn't it on for 20+ years?!

Love the blog stalkers convention idea...I'll be looking for my invite via e-mail!

You have never shopped at a thrift store. How can this be? It's the most wonderful of treasure hunts EVER.

Rosemary Q said...

I can cook/bake and be a good friend.

I can't lie at all, everything shows on my face. I also can't seem to learn to speak Spanish. I can understand it though.

I have never watched any of the Star Wars movies.

I would like to be a published author.

I SO WANT TO BE A PART OF YOUR BLOGGER STALKER CONFERENCE!! WHEN IS IT COMING TO A CITY NEAR ME??? LOL! You're awesome Kat!

I always hated that Presidential Fitness Exam. Who is the President to tell me how fit I ought to be? The whole thing seemed designed on the physical capabilities of an Olympic gymnast. You were smart to dodge it.
