Weekend Whimsies

I am not sure how I missed doing a Friday post. Oh, wait. Yes, I do. It's because I got nothin. Nada. Zilch. This is why you can now do all the work:

Idealist or a realist?

What do you like to eat for breakfast?

What was the best thing you saw on TV this week?

High or low maintenance?

spender or a saver?

What are you allergic to?

What is your favorite color? What color looks best on you?

Ever been on a blind date?

Have you ever held ANY elected office?

If you could change ONE thing about your appearance, what would it be?

So very much an idealist. Living with a realist. We do our own version of checks and balances.

A banana. A huge handful of vitamins. And a sausage and egg lean pocket.

Fringe. I swear that show gets better with each episode.

High. Very high. Oxygen sucking high.

Does it just logically follow that I'm a high maintenance idealist that I must be a spender? I thought so. This is why I don't have to do the grocery shopping here. Another checks and balance - Michael is the saver.

All varieties of pollen. Shrimp skin. Latex.

Green and purple. To wear: Really dark purple. Or browns.

Yes. I was something in the Latin club. But I don't recall what. I was treasurer of my church many years ago. And learned to never ever take a position on church council again.

That my hips did not have shelf like proportions...

Tiffany said...

Oh, most definitely a realist living with an idealist which makes me even more of a realist.

I don't eat breakfast. I do love veggie omelettes but I don't eat them often.

I was hoping it would be the VP debate but no such luck. Ummmmmm, I'll go with Desperate Housewives.

Not so much high maintenance as I used to be but I'm probably on the high end of low maintenance. Make sense?

Tiffany said...

I wasn't done. Sorry about that....

I'm a spender who is trying harder than ever to save. And my husband is a spender also which frightens me horribly. I used to be more of a saver and his bad habits have worn off on me. ;(

Tiffany said...

So I hit some random key and have no idea what happened but anyway, I'm back to hopefully answer the rest of these questions.

I am allergic to .........BENADRYL! Can you imagine? I stepped on a wasp in my early 20's and my entire foot swelled up immediately. So I went to the ER because it was so swollen, I couldn't walk. They gave me a shot of benadryl and before I could leave the hospital, my entire body looked like an oompa loompa. So, I discovered, at that point that I am allergic to Benadryl.

My favorite color - I don't have just one. I love chocolate brown and black. Love gray also. People comment when I wear olive green because olive green makes my green eyes stand out.

Nope, no blind dates for me.

I was an assistant township assessor in high school and college but it wasn't elected. It was an appointed position by the elected assessor.

The additional post-baby weight that I've never lost.

I was harassing you on Twitter-- saying it's not Friday without Follies!

I'm an optimistic realist.

I *love* breakfast. Especially from the Original Pancake House (not to be mistaken for IHOP) and the Waffle House (which we don't have up here). I love French Toast, and waffles, and sausage patties.

Best thing I saw was Dexter! (But I'm obsessed with the show, so I'll say The Daily Show.)

LOW maintenance, but particular.

bargain shopper who should save what she saves.

technically, I'm not allergic to anything, but my brain is "sensitive" to all kinds of stuff, so I am plagued with Chronic Daily Migraine. meh.

Purples and blues are my favorite, and they look best on me.

I did when I tried online dating many years ago. Actually had some fun dates!

I was the Standards Chairman of my sorority for three years, and was elected to the Board of Directors of my neighborhood association when I lived in Georgetown.

I would get leg transplants. I've wished I had Tina Turner's legs ever since Private Dancer came out.

Shannon said...

Me, too! I am an idealist... living with a realist

I usually don't eat breakfast... if I do, it more than likely is just a bowl of cereal. But of we go out for breakfast, then I go all out: pancakes or waffles, bacon, toast or biscuits, hashbrown casserole, fresh fruit...

Life... and I was treated to two new episodes (Mon and Fri) and its on twice next week, too! Woo hoo! I thought it was the best new drama last year. And Damien Lewis is just adorable.

High maintenance... have you not seen my twitter icon??? ;)

I am so a spender... who needs to be more of a saver.

I don't have any allergies.

I can't pick just one fave color... I really like earth tones and jewel tones and think these are the colors I look best in

never been on a blind date

no I have never held any elected office

I am ok with my size, but I want to be more toned and firm

A realist. Such a realist.

Pancakes and sausage. Don't do that very often. Oh, and hash browns, because is it really a meal if it doesn't include some form of potato?

I didn't see much that was good. Grey's wasn't on, so I'll go with Private Practice.

Low maintenance most of the time.

Saver, but I do like to shop.

Allergic to the cillins.

I love green, and I look good in it. I also love brown/blue together.

Several. I was the frequent dater of the out-of-town cousins in high school. Met the husband on kind of a random date, although we were in a group of people.

Have you ever held ANY elected office?

If you could change ONE thing about your appearance, what would it be?

Rhea said...

I'm going to do this, but it will have to be later because I have to go coach a soccer team game this morning, my son's team made up of 6-7 yr old boys. Can you HEAR the excitement in my voice? NO? Well, that's because it's NOT THERE!

Rhea said...

BTW, you were in my dream last night! I was visiting your house, and Shannon and Angie were there. Weird, huh?

Do you have a screened in porch? YOu did last night. lol

I was looking all day for your Friday post !!!!

Unknown said...

I think I'm a half and half. I have my realist side and my idealist side. Sometimes they argue with each other, but most of the time they balance each other out!!

Unknown said...

I really like eggs, black pudding, fried tomatoes, hash browns, sauted mushrooms and bacon. MmmmMmmm...

But in deference to my arteries, I usually have yoghurt, berries and Fibre One.

But we do have a big breakfast on Sundays. No black pudding though. haven't been able to find it here. :-(

Rhea said...

I'm not an Idealist or a realist? I'm an indecisive Confucius.

I like a hot chai tea for breakfast.

I didn't watch any TV this week except Ghost Whisperer. I DVR'ed all my shows though, so I will watch them eventually.

I'm low maintenance.

I'm more of a saver, but that's hard to do when you don't have money to save!

I have seasonal allergies.

I like jewel tones. Like deep reds, blues, purples and greens. I like to wear them too. but I look good in black and pink too.

Ever been on a blind date? nope.

I think I was on student council in middle school.

If you could change ONE thing about your appearance, what would it be? I'd love to lose more weight!

Unknown said...

Ummmm ... didn't watch much TV this week, was to busy trying to stay on top of Rhea !!! And I'm surprised you had time to watch TV, what with all those comments to keep you entertained :-)

I enjoyed 'Heroes'.

Unknown said...

Probably a spender, but I'm working on the saver bit...

Office wasn't on this week. So, I've got nuttin'.

Low. definitely LOW.

Both. Strong saver tendencies, but a total spender with photography goods...

Spiders. For sure, I'm allergic to spiders. I should never be near them. Never.

I love all colors. Dark purple and periwinkle blue look pretty good on me, methinks.

My nose. It's crooked, hooked (been broken at least twice), and downright ugly. I forbid profile pictures at all times. So I guess I'm high maintenance in that respect, at least.

Happy Saturday, Kat!

Jen said...

Here are my thoughts...
is it possible to be both? But I do lean towards the idealist side.

The debate

Low Maintenance

Spender who wants to be a saver

I am allergic to coconut

My favorite color is mauve because it looks best on me.

I met my husband on a blind date.

No elected offices.

One thing to change would be my weight.

Tiffany said...

Good grief! Karen AND Rhea have lost their minds. Only temporarily though, I'm sure. I see I've got more work to do. sigh.

Rhea said...

I'm losing my mind.

Tiffany said...

Rhea, You are too funny! I cannot, for the life of me, get one up on you. Just when I think I might get the top spot, you post again! hee hee

Unknown said...

I lost my mind quite awhile ago. If anybody happens to find it, I'd really appreciate if they sent it back to me, okay ?

Brian and Staci said...

Realist...hubby is the idealist! Checks and balance as you say!

I'm not a huge breakfast eater but recently...I'm trying to get more boiled eggs (NO YOKE --ick! (Still haven't tried that way to peel them that you sent me dang it!) Sooners kick some Baylor tail!!!!

Hmmm, I'd like to say I'm kind of medium...hold on...let me ask the man...his words, "I would say you are moderate, honey!" YAY! we agree!

Spender...he's the saver.

Nothing at all :)

Um...I like navy blue and I think it looks fine on me??? Not sure what looks best..but I always get compliments when I wear this crimson shirt??

Not that I recall

I was head cheerleader (STOP laughing Kat! Does that surprise you?) Now...let me redeem myself...I was also President of my Honor Society class and Vice President of my Senior class.

I wish I had a six pack set of abs!!!

Hope everyone is having a great weekend :)

sassy stephanie said...

I'm a combo.

I LIKE to eat cake for breakfast, in an IDEAL world, being fed to me by a buffed out man, but I am a REALIST and know oatmeal with blueberries is much better for my health (well, physical health, anyway).

Not much of a TV watcher. Don't think I watched anything this week.

HIGH when I want something or my way (I am an only child) but Sweetie says I'm pretty low maintenance and easy to please.

SPENDIN' all your money on me...

Stupid people.

Black to wear, brick red otherwise.

Yep. It was BO-Ring.

Yes, Student Council President of blank blank Jr High's six grade class.

I have a JLo butt, which could stand to not stick out so much like a table.

Katrina really--high maintenance? you? I'll have to ponder that one. what kind of vitamins are you taking? I buy them but don't take them. i also buy books and don't read them.
so you liking the Fringe means I might have to give it a try.

Angie's Spot said...

I think I'm a realist. Many of my friends might disagree.

I rarely eat breakfast, but I really love french toast and bacon. Yum!

The best thing I saw on tv this week was The Amazing Race. Love that show.

Low Maintenance

Allergic to nothing

Fave color is red. And not coincedently, red looks great on me.

I've never been on a blind date.

I was voted President of my local chapter of MOMS Club. I resigned after 4 months. It sucked.

I wish I could have great hair. Easy, low maintenance, hair. Sigh.

Definately I'm both- idealistic and realistic.
I like to eat anything that I don't have to make myself. :)
Pushing Daisies started! Yay!
Low...very low maintenance.
I like to save so I can spend more!
Seasonal allergies.
I don't think I've got a favorite color.
I have been on a blind date. Long story short- he stalked me and after that I stuck to meeting guys on the internet.
hmm...Can't think of anything to change. My dh loves me the way I am. :)

Lula! said...

I'm laughing at Rhea!

Here goes:

I am an idealist and a realist, dependinng on the situation. I'm also pragmatic. Ha!

Sausage Toaster Scramblers. Every. Day. I'm obsessed.

I watched little TV--due to being on vacation. Scott & I watched the last half hour of Titanic on Saturday night. The ship sank. Jack died. Same ol, same ol'...I thought they might make it this time, but no. Sigh...

I am extremely low maintenance. In my head, at least.

Both...I'm married to an extreme saver, which blessedly keeps me from spending as much as I'd like. We balance each other.

I'm allergic to sulfa drugs. Boring, I know. And typical stuff like ragweed.

PINK!!!! PINK!!!! PINK!!!!

I worked very hard to rid myself of the horrible memory of my only blind date. Thanks for bringing it up. Ugh.

Yes, I was on student council all through high school. Only because I was in the most apathetic homeroom. And because I wanted an extra pic in the yearbooks.

I would like to be 5'11". And with a flat stomach. Not too much to ask, huh?

Mama Dawg said...

I like to eat homemade pancakes and sausage, but settle for a bagel w/cream cheese.

Yep, it was bleh.
