Purger. In a house full of pack rats. I don't like "stuff." And I do throw things away. Lots of things. Including "hiding" these precious things under other trash so that they will leave my house.

Wallflower. I like to sit back and observe.

Most nights I get about 6 or 7 hours. But then on the weekends I sleep about 8 or 9 to balance it all out.

Warm, freshly baked bread with butter. Makes me very happy.

My parents were both air force brats - and they raised me to believe that 15 minutes early = on time. And then I had kids. And I am usually on time.

I really don't like the phone. I much prefer to communicate by email. However if I have a lot to say - or a whole bunch of nothing - the phone is easier.

Jon Stewart

Georgia Aquarium

English Patient or Kung Fu Hustle

I am the queen of jury duty. From the time I was 18 until I was about 30, I was called 8 times. 8 times!! I served on 2 trials. One was a business dispute. And the other was a divorce trial. We the jury got to split up their posessions. It was very amusing.

I have not been called in a long time. Crud. I bet I'll get a summons soon now...

I'm a pack-rat.

I'm a wallflower.

How much sleep do you get each night? 3 - 4 hours. How much do you need to feel rested? Not sure - I've felt rested in 3 years!

What is your comfort food? Potatoes and Coca-Cola

I'm usually early.

When I need to talk with someone I do it by email.

Who's your favorite talk show host? I don't watch talk shows. Does Countdown with Keith Olbermann count as a talk show?

What is your favorite place to take out of town guests? The Shaker Village of Pleasant Hill or Old Fort Harrod State Park.

What is the worst movie you've ever seen? Balls of Fury

Have you ever had jury duty? No. Were you picked for a trial?

Purger...for the most part...I do keep love letters and such. My husband is the sentimental pack rat around here!

Um...Life of the party...but not obnoxiously so if that makes sense?
About 7-8 hours usually. At least 8 but I'd love 10 :)

ICE CREAM!!! LOVE IT!

Early!

Phone

Kelly Rippa...does she count?

Um...kinda sad, but everyone who visits us wants to go to the bombing memorial site :( I'd much prefer to take them to an OU football game or Downtown OKC to our little version of the Riverwalk. We just got an NBA team so that would be fun too :)

No Country for Old Men??? I think that's the title...I just don't even get it! Oh yea...and Open Water! Really bad!

Nope! But now that you mentioned it...I'm destined to :) Can I fly my kids to your place if I'm called? I have secretly always wanted to be on a jury though :)

Have a great lonnng weekend my friend!

Are you a pack-rat or a purger?
Pack-Rat who wishes she was a Purger. We have entirely too much stuff, and it depresses me to no end.

Life of the party or wallflower?
I don't think I'm either one-- definitely somewhere in the middle, maybe more on the LOTP side.

How much sleep do you get each night? How much do you need to feel rested?
I get about 7 hours a night. I never feel rested, though.

What is your comfort food?
Houston's-- Spinach/Artichoke dip, Club Salad (w/no egg), with double honey mustard, and a Five Nut Brownie for dessert.

Are you early, late, or on time?
I'm usually right on time, but running late to get there. I abhor being late, and am married to a man who doesn't mind it so much, which drives me INSANE.

When you need to talk with someone - do you do it by phone or by email?
Email, unless it's important. If it's some sort of conflict, I definitely use the phone.

Who's your favorite talk show host?
Oprah.

What is your favorite place to take out of town guests?
The Smithsonian (whichever exhibits interest the guests)

What is the worst movie you've ever seen?
Tie: The Piano, Popeye

Have you ever had jury duty? Were you picked for a trial?
I have been called many times (when I lived in The District-- it's kinda hard not to get called there), but I've never been picked.

Purger!

Life of the party/wallflower-Somewhere in the middle...kinda depends on the amount of alcohol involved

I go to bed at 9:30 and get up at 5 during the week...sleeping in until 7 would be nice!

Pasta/potatoes/bread/anything with carbs!

I am always on time...usually early.

Email!

Ellen

My favorite place to take out of town guests? Back to their own home!

Worst movie-The Mask

Never been called for jury duty...and I am just fine with that.

Skeller said...

somewhere in between.

wallflower, fer sure. way too introverted to be comfy at a party.

5-6.5 hours. 'bout that to be rested.

???

early to on-time. I'm pretty compulsive about timeliness.

hmmmm. doesn't happen often. probably phone. cause I don't like to write.

don't have one.

da beach.

recently -- Fool's Gold (on the plane home). terrible, so terrible. tho, in fairness, I did fall asleep early into it ... didn't see any possibility of it redeeming itself...

just once. my whole group was released, because the judge managed to arbitrate the whole thing before we got started.

Rhea said...

Holy smokes, I can't believe how many times you've been called for jury duty! That's impressive.

Rhea said...

I think I've been a pack rat but now I'm leaning towards purging.

I'm more of a wallflower. Is there an in between though, because I'm an in between sometimes. Not usually the life of the party though, because I'm shy. sometimes.

I need ten hours, I swear, at LEAST, but lately I get nowhere near that many. I probably get 6-8 during the week.

My comfort food is pizza or tex-mex or steak. Or Chicken Phad Thai. I could go on and on...

I am an on-time kind of person. I hate being late. My hubby is ALWAYS running behind, and I'm always the one waiting on him. I can't stand to be late.

I prefer email unless it's something that's complicated or needs to be done in person.

John Stewart, baby!

My fav place to take out of town guests here is the Dallas World Aquarium or one of the big local parks. I'm still learning this area, only lived here a year. In Austin I had a ton of places I took people. Hamilton Pool, the Oasis for the sunset, Mount Bonell for the view, Barton Springs to swim, etc.

The worst movie I've ever seen? PeeWee's Playhouse. Can't stand him.

I've been called to jury duty ONCE, but had to get out of it due to having a baby. I'd love to do it though, just for the experience.

Jill said...

I'm a total purger... the benefits of moving every few years!

Both... I'm a wallflower when I don't know anybody in a room... but when I do, I love to mingle!

Sadly - I don't get enough sleep! 5 - 6 hours.

I love chinese food... and lots of it. Anything stir fry makes me happy!

I prefer to be early, but honestly, we're always late.

Love e-mail... it's much cheaper! And skype is my new best friend.

Oprah baby... even here!

Favorite place to take guests... WAS the Western Wall... but I"m going to guess it will now be the Taj Mahal.

Worst movie - Anchorman

I've never had jury duty - though I have been called and had to decline due to living out of the country.

I should be getting 8-9. I usually get around 7. Sometimes more on the weekend.

I love potatoes and chocolate. Not together though.

Usually a tad bit early.

Email please

I liked The View when Rosie was on. Now I don't really watch any talk shows. I do love David Letterman, though!

To the front door as they're leaving.

I don't even know because I wouldn't watch it if I thought it was bad!

I got the slip saying I could be called at any time in April, May, and June this year, but didn't get called. Whew!

Pack-rat with some things (I'm way sentimental), but purger with most.

Usually life of the party. 'Cause I'm obnoxious.

7-8 hours. I'd prefer 12.

Mac & Cheese, turkey & dressing, Duncan Hines Butter Recipe Yellow cake batter. Yep!

Early 90% of the time.

Phone, text, e-mail. Depends on situation & which is easier, and how long your phone will give permission for us to talk.

Ellen!

The guest bedroom. We live in the country, so all the excitement has to happen here, at home.

Last Tango In Paris. Seen it twice, but I still don't get it.

I have never had jury duty. Now that I've said this, I'm certain a summons will appear in our mailbox next week.

I'm a pack-rat who purges about 6 times a year. And when I do, it's MAJOR.

Wallflower

On a good night, I get about 6-7 hours. I need about 9 to feel my best.

Pasta in a cream sauce is my ultimate comfy food.

I tend to be either early or late. Never on time.

I despise the phone. I'm an email gal.

I heart Jon Stewart!

We love the Tennessee Aquarium the most.

Worst movie is TOYS with Robin Williams. It's the only one I've ever walked out of. I also hated Talladega Nights.

Never had jury duty. And in keeping with others here, I'll probably be called now.

Bobbi--I have to ask...who dragged you to see Balls of Fury? And what was their punishment?

Staci--I throw away that kind of stuff too! But that gives me an idea for a question for next week. I never saw "No country for Old Men." It's in my netflix queue. My husband want to see it - but it does not interest me at all.

And let me know when you get that jury duty so that I can make sure the guest room is still clean.

Tiffany--I am probably one of the few extroverts that likes to be a wallflower. I have this thing with people watching. People just fascinate me. And I have not seen Chelsea Handler before. She has a show? I have seen her books...but I haven't investigated who she is.

Kim--My husband is always late, too. On Sunday mornings I can get myself and both kids ready and he is still primping. Drives me nuts.

And I completely forgot about "The Piano." You can add that to my list, too.

JDM--You don't like house guests?! I've never seen "The Mask" but I am leery of many Jim Carrey movies.

Skeller--You are so funny about writing! Your boys aren't like that are they? Didn't one of yours write a book?

Rhea--I know...my jury duty experience is crazy. It was so high to begin with because the county that I lived in pulled jurors based on voter registrations. And only 25% of the county was registered to vote. When they changed it to getting jurors from driver's licenses, I have only been called once since then. And I can't believe how many people haven't served at all!

Jill--I could eat Fried rice all day. For every meal. If only it was healthy. But yum! And "Anchorman" - I LOVE that movie. It is so freakin' stupid - but absolutely hilarious. There are so many great one-liners. And that whole newscaster's rumble is genius.

Keys to the Magic Travel said...

FN--What is with you and Angie wanting to escort people from your house? :-) I love Letterman, too. I would love to see his show taped. OH...and now I have another idea for a question for next time. I loved Rosie's show when it was just her. I never saw her on the View. All those ladies make me nuts.

Lula--I still can't believe how long we talked on the phone. Did you realize it was over 4 hours?! No wonder my phone was irate. I saw "Last Tango in Paris" in college with a guy I liked - but he wasn't that into me. It was his choice. We watched it at my apartment. On my pull out sofa. I think I was getting mixed messages :-)

Angie--I'll have you know that I cannot stop thinking about Great American Cookie company. Cannot stop! There is not much love here directed to Will Ferrel. Or is it Ferrell. Or Ferell? Anyway...I thought that one was pretty funny too.

Mainly a wallfower. I also like to watch.

About 6 ... 7 if I'm lucky. Sleep in at the weekends.

Currently ... Slow Churn fat Free Chocolate Fudge icecream and bananas .

Usually early

Both. Prefer email though

Jay Leno

Virginia City

Battleground Earth , Jaws - The Revenge. The Attack Of The Killer Tomatoes. Those three stand out in my memory as the worst. I was really disppointed in John Travolta ... whoever heard of a shark roaring ... and tomatoes attacking people?

Yes, had jury duty in NZ. Was excused once because I was heavily pregnant. The second was a criminal trial..

Purger---sometimes too much (and I have to go out and re-purchase something I threw out!)

Somewhere in between. It depends on the company!

5 hours, but I really look and function better if I could get 7-8.

Warm from the oven chocolate chip cookies and a big glass of icy cold milk......drool.

Right on time---though I'd like to be early!

e-mail. I hate the phone!

Love Rachael Ray, but Craig Fergeson's monologue always cracks me up!

To a hole-in-the-wall but absolutely delish local pizza place called Flying Pie.

I remember Godzilla and the Hulk being so hyped up and they were just AWFUL! Other ones were so bad I can't even remember the names of them!

I've always wanted to be on jury duty---and I just got called!!!!.....and then released since I'm a full time student! My nephew served last year and said it was horrible. It was a child molestation case and the images and testimony still haunt him. That was cheery, right?! :)

PURGER!!!! I hate clutter and crap!

I'm not really either. I can cut up with the best of them, but I am not an instigator. I NEVER just sit in the background and do nothing.

When I am up late blogging, like now, it is about 6 hours, but I need 8 or 9 to feel good.

Comfort food..hmmm...I'm not sure I have one....

I am always early. Being late is a pet peeve of mine.

If it's important it's by phone, if it isn't, it's by email.

Although I rarely get to watch her show, Ellen DeGeneres is the best! Love her.

To all the sites in DC.

Joe Vs. the Volcano. I love Tom Hanks but this was THE worst movie ever made. Period.

I have never had jury duty! I've never even been called up for it!

Again...lots of fun!
