Thursday Thirteen: I will be LOST tonight

You know, my Thursday Thirteens take a lot of effort. A lot. Why am I unable to make a simple list? Like the 13 things I need to do to get the girls ready for camp. Or a list of the thirteen things I have no intention of doing next week because I will be childless. Or the thirteen things I am going to do that I never get to do because my kids are at camp. Or I could get down and deep and review the last thirteen books I read for the 888 challenge. Or a list of thirteen reasons why I hate the book “Little Women.”

But I cannot think of these things. Because today is Thursday, May 29, 2008. Tonight is the finale of LOST. You can look over at the top of my left sidebar and see how many hours and minutes until it starts. And then after tonight…I have to wait until February. 2000 freakin’ 9 until my story picks up. How will I ever survive? I might need meds. Or a hobby. Or meds.

So…here I am. A hopin’ and a prayin’ that some of my multitudinous questions might be answered tonight. Like:

1. Who is Richard Alpert? And why does he not age?
2. What was up with the Dalai Lama like test Richard Alpert gave to Locke?
3. How can Christian Shepherd be a voice for Jacob? Is Jacob just “borrowing” his body? And who is Jacob anyway?
4. Is Claire dead? Was she dead back when Sawyer found her after the house exploded?
5. Will Desmond ever find Penny? Tonight? Will they find a happily ever after?
6. What does Charlie keep telling Hurley in his visits at the mental institution?
7. Why does the Oceanic Six have to keep what happened secret?
8. How are they going to move that island? Will moving the island explain the polar bears in Tunisia and the Black Rock being in the middle of the island? Or even the huge statue with the four toes?
9. How and why did Abaddon recruit Naomi, Daniel, Frank, Miles, and Charlotte? And what do they know about the island? And how?
10. Why can Ben and Widmore not kill each other? What is their connection to one another?
11. Who is in that coffin? Is it Michael?
12. Whose side is Juliet actually on? Is Ben really a “good guy?”
13. Will island time be explained? Or the time travel? Or how Ben lands in the middle of the desert? Or how he has so many passports? Or money?

Okay…I suppose that’s more than 13 questions. I’ve got hundreds of them. I’d just like to leave tonight’s episode with more questions answered than asked. Please. Or send meds.

I bet they don't answer any of your questions. Gotta keep you hanging, you know.

My TT was on Lost too! This show has a way of never answering more questions than it creates! You gotta love it!

Supposedly we will find out who is in the coffin tonight. Given Kate's reaction in the season #3 finale that was something like "WHY would I go to his funeral? *gasp* *shocked look*" I'm thinking it's Ben. *nods*

At first I thought it was Sawyer, but he never made it off the island sooooo.... my vote is Ben.

Richard Alpert doesn't age because he's so damn hot. LOL! Ok, really, I think he was born on the island and it has to do with the time travel thing. ;)

You didn’t like little woman!? Oh my sadness.... :(

I love your 13!!! I have it ready to record!!! We are all excited and sad at the same time... it feels like the season just started and now its over! Its sad... really, really sad...

Alice--Don't say that. Please don't say that. I gotta know. Something. Just a little somthing.

Wani--I loved your list. There is so much about LOST to love.

Tali--We'll know who's in the coffin? Cool. See...I was thinking Ben couldn't be killed. But if it's Ben, it would explain why Jack was so upset. But I still think it's Michael.

Lisa--I'll cover my face...but yes, I am hating "Little Women." It's just so sugar sweet. And the language is driving me nuts. I need to read something that is a polar opposite! I am surely not ready for LOST to be over. Not one bit.

You might as well be speaking Greek in this post. I have never seen a single second of Lost. I am sorry. Did I just lose your blogship? I do hope you get all of your questions answered though!

Angie--OH, my. I love my LOST...and I have found so many people that are as equally addicted...and so many more that have way too much time on their hands. Because the people in my house are not interested in LOST like I am. My husand doesn't watch. My mom watches and then when it's over she says to me "what just happened?" I never really know :-) If you are at all intrigued...netflix 'em!

I, too, am not a fan. I watch so much TV but I missed this show. My friends loved to talk it up during lunch. Just never got hooked. Enjoy your show.

Keys to the Magic Travel said...

Joye--That is what netflix is for! I had never watched "Sex in the City" - can you believe it? So...this week, I'll be having a marathon!

Kat...I cannot even reply to your post yet because I haven't read it...what I am here to tell you is that I am going to pick your three posts to submit to Heather...you aren't backing out sister...you do have funny stuff!

Who the hell is Jeremy Benthom? *runs back to the TV*

Oh, Kat, you know how much I LOVE LOST!! Great post. You covered a lot of the great big questions.

I want to know why the island seems to want Jack and Hurley and them to return?! That seems to be why Charlie keeps visiting Hurley in the mental institution and why Jack's dad is showing up.

I think the person in the coffin could be Michael.

I can't wait to watch the show...but I don't want it to end. This season was so short due to the late start and the writer's strike. waaaahhh. (That's me crying and pouting).

Love this song. I LOVE THIS SHOW!! I have tied my children to their beds and I am settling down to watch it right now. AHHHHHHH....

Acrimony said...

Ok I can safely say I didn't see *that* one coming especially given the way the story played out.

*claps*

Keys to the Magic Travel said...

Oh WOW...what an episode. Didn't think it would be *him* in the coffin either. And what the heck was that wheel that Ben was turning? Where did they go? How on earth does Ben have ideas on how to get back?

Heather - This song was actually on LOST. I tried to have Shambala playing...but each time I add one it dies...and so does the next one...and on and on.

Did you all watch last week's episode again? There was one new line on it...about who the other three people were that only survived a short while. I wonder why they picked those three? Except for the fact that they actually did die.

And what about Daniel and the people on his raft. What happens to them?

Oh...the anxiety of it all. I need to self medicate. Lula - send peanut M&M's please!

Keys to the Magic Travel said...

Debbie--You are too sweet. I did pick three. But I am most curious as to which three you would pick. That is what they should have done. Had us sign up...and then someone pick a blog to pick the posts. What did you pick for yours?!

Lula! said...

OHMYHEAD! Did you watch? SO SO SO FABULOUS.

Ok, first of all...you are playing Three Dog Night and I just wanna jump in a VW Van and roll with my fella, Sawyer, and Hurley and Jin (sob!) and Charlie (sob!) and oh...
We listen to TDN's greatest hits all time.

So...I loved it. Way better than last season's finale. I totally predicted the coffin dweller...and when they showed him, I said an adult word. And my husband got all mad and left the room, disguested at my fervor and passion for this wonderful TV show.

I was literally on the edge of my couch all night long...I cried tears of joy, I sobbed & snotted and heaved tears of sorrow. I am literally a mess now. I need some Perspective.

Lula! said...

Oops. I never proofread. I do know how to spell disgusted, though.

Keys to the Magic Travel said...

Lula--We were posting at the same time. I need those peanut M&M's pronto. And I can't believe Shambala is playing for you...mine went immediately to "Building a Mystery." You really predicted the coffin guy?! I thought for sure it was Michael. Of course all my theories turn out to be wrong. Except my thought that Michael was Ben's man on the boat.

How are we going to survive until February?!

Rhea said...

Oh my gosh. That was a great episode. Didn't answer many questions but was still good. I only have a minute before leaving for work but had to post about LOST. I can't believe who was in the coffin! I didn't see that coming at all. How did HE get off the island???

So many questions unanswered. Why do they need to return? Why? And why ALL of them? Does that mean Ben needs to go back too? It is TORTURE waiting til next season.

And, Desmond and Penny...YAY!!!

I'm dancing around the room right now singing... Tell me, how does your light shine in homes of Shambala?? tell me, tell me...ah uhhhh huh uhhhh yeah
yeah yeah yeah yeah

I'm so lost with lost... I can hardly figure out what's going on anymore. Boo Hoo!

Rhea--Did you watch last week's episode again? With the new info on who the other three survivors were? I so did not expect to see him in the coffin. What an episode!! I can see why they want to go back to the island...their lives suck now. They are becoming what they did not want to be. And I guess the island is an all or none thing. But I am not sure if Ben will be allowed to go back or not. I want to know who Jacob is (and especially why he said "help me" to Locke).

Jill--Are you still watching? You need to read Lostpedia...And I can't believe you are hearing Shambala. It is not working on my end! Mine goes straight to "Building a mystery." Ack!

Nissa said...

One day I will watch Lost. I have decided though, that I must start at the beginning.

I hear ya on T13's being hard. I've skipped 2 in a row now because I didn't want to strain my brain thinking of lists(that anyone would possibly care about! lol)

Keys to the Magic Travel said...

Nissa--Just netflix LOST. You can be strange like me...watch and then read what Lostpedia has to say about the episode. You'll really get sucked in then. And you MUST start at the beginning. Without commercials, you can really get through them quickly.

The TT are really challenging! This was the shortest one I have ever done!

Rhea said...

Kat - I missed the encore presentation of last week's show before the finale. I did DVR it but haven't watched it. What new info was there?!!

I am curious why Ben says they all have to go back. I mean, WHY? Why does the island need them to return??

I am dying to know more about Jacob as well and why Christian Shepherd seems to be a mouthpiece for him.

Insane Mama said...

holy freeking crap LOST was hot and so was Sawyer and as usual Kate

Keys to the Magic Travel said...

Rhea--the only new info in the episode was who the other three "survivors" of the crash were. The ones that died before they found that boat. They were: Boone, Charlie and Libby. And something interesting - they say Boone and Charlie's last names...but not Libby's. Why not? And why did they pick those three? Why????!!

Oh, I have so many questions. Like, what happens to those in the Zodiac (Daniel and the others)? Do they go with the island. What about the freighter...does it go, too...thus giving the possibility that Jin might have survived.

Insane Mama--it was an amazing episode...and an amazing season! Amazing! I love the new "hero" Sawyer...

OH we are avid Lost fans at our house too. I LOVED reading everyone's insight on this. So good. Can't wait for next season. Although is it going to be the last season? I SOOOOO don't want it to be over. (Just thought I'd leave a comment so you'd know I am a reader of your drivel.)

Ok...we've established that I cannot play the LOST game...not one episode. ever. So I am here to check in on you and say YAHOO you got your WII. I hope you got the one with the sports bundle...that is the one with the tennis, bowling etc that everyone says is so much fun. This our first game type thing...I have stood firm on that for a long time...the WII offers more for the whole family...so I relented. Talk later.

I miss Lost. They are taking soooooo long.

I'm about to head to Target. I need to limit my spending...

They're showing "lost' on the SciFi channel on Mondays. I think they are reruns.

After being told by quite a few people that it really is a must see series, I've decided to just go ahead and buy Season 1 on DVD. I'm watching a couple on Ebay at the moment. Bit cheaper than buying them in the store!!
